| The standard controller configuration
for the Design Contest is as follows:
Right Joystick
Horizontal
axis: motor 1
Vertical axis: motor 2
Motor 1 and motor 2 control channels will be mixed. If a
competitor desires to have motor 1 and motor 2 operate independently,
please
ask Mr. Tony Knight or Mr. Ron Stubbs to change the configuration.
Left Joystick
Vertical axis: motor 3 (non-centering)
Horizontal axis: motor
4
Gear Switch
Located on the upper left side of the controller.
This switch can be used to switch an optional 6 VDC device.

Control System To simplify the electrical connections for the 2004 Design Contest,
two Cat 5 cables will be supplied to each contestant/team. One cable
is black and the other is red. The colors of the cables correspond
to the RC-45 jacks on the control box. The device wiring is detailed
in the tables below.  Black Cable to RC-45 Jack:

Note: Wires 5 and 6, 7 and 8 connect to the contestants batteries
in parallel. Wires 5 and 6 to the positive terminal and wires 7 and
8 to the negative terminal. |
